Textile Sector Capacity Building
The Andhra Pradesh Productivity Council (APPC) has been tasked with implementing the “Scheme for Capacity Building in Textile Sector (SCBTS)” under the SAMARTH Scheme by the Ministry of Textiles (MoT), Govt. of India. This project aims to provide demand-driven, placement-oriented skill training to incentivize industry efforts in job creation within the organized textile sector and upskilling in traditional textiles, promoting sustainable livelihoods across the country.

Our Challenges
The implementation of the SAMARTH Scheme posed challenges in tailoring training programs to meet the diverse needs of the textile industry and ensuring placement outcomes for candidates. Key hurdles included:
Course Diversity
APPC trained candidates in six courses: Sewing Machine Operator, Pattern Maker, Jute Product Stitching Operator, and Hand Block Printer.
Training and Certification Standards
Standardized assessment processes ensured fair, accurate certification across regions, maintaining consistency in training and candidate evaluation.
